Conceived and developed by Hammond Asset Management, 865 East is Harrisonburg's first usage of the high density, mixed use zoning classification R-5. A seven story mixed use development of retail and luxury student housing, 865 East sets the standard for land usage and urban planning.

Staunton Steam laundry
The Staunton Steam Laundry Building is one of the larger historic and cherished buildings of Staunton, VA. Opening up in 1912, the business operated for over a century servicing everyone far and wide. With the rise of Covid, the business was sadly forced to shut down. Wanting to preserve the building and provide more housing to the area, Hammond Asset Management and Miller and Associates purchased the building in 2020. As of now, it has been designed to host 48 apartments and few businesses in the near future.
rockingham national bank
First opening in 1900, the Rockingham National Bank operated until the 1940’s when it was bought by Don Ruddle. With various uses and owners since then, Hammond Asset Management purchased the bank in 2021. The building is planned to host the sister company of Hammond Asset Management, Hammond Insurance Agency, along with multiple apartments and small businesses.
Folly mills
Sitting on 10 acres with 1.3miles of Folly Creek running through, is the house of James Cochran, the son of Joseph Smith. Joseph smith was one of the original builders who constructed 2 of the Folly Mills in Augusta County. Acquired by Hammond Asset Management in 2020, the property and land are still under analysis of what they will be used for.
The wender building
The earliest findings of the building speak of a popular Jewelery Store, "The Reliable Jeweler", owned by W. F. Bargelt on the first floor left side, a general store on the right side, "Mauck & Young" and a restaurant, Delmonico, on the second floor owned by Arthur Boyer. These stores, along with the rest of the block were later damaged in what is known as the worst fire of Woodstock, occurring on August 14th, 1900. Now the building is being remodeled to hos the Department of Corrections for the Woodstock area.
Hammond Professional Park
A 14 acre upscale professional services park conveniently located off Interstate 81, exit 243. HPP serves as home to over a dozen legal, medical, employment, insurance, and financial services firms. HPP is one of Harrisonburg's premier office complexes, attractively situated along People's Drive featuring over 50,000 square feet of occupied office space.
James Madison Square
Featuring national and regional retailers such as Starbucks, Fantastic Sam's, and Jimmy John's, James Madison Square is a landmark center adjacent to the main entrance of James Madison University and surrounded by campus life. Located at the main exit ramp to JMU and Harrisonburg from Interstate 81, JMS captures the bipartisan commuter traffic. Hammond Asset Management developed, managed, and sold JMS for investment group.
Jenzabar
Hammond Asset Management acquired this 35,000 square foot facility from a financially troubled manufacturing facility, renovated into office space, leased to a national software firm, Jenzabar, and then sold asset for a private investment client.
Brookside Park
Located in Harrisonburg, Virginia; Brookside Park is a 35 lot, residential community currently in the final stages of development. Hammond Asset Management is being utilized in analysis, valuation, budgeting, construction, management, and disposition activities.
Roberts Home Medical
Hammond Asset Management negotiated the acquisition and disposition of a 14,000 square foot retail and distribution center, Roberts Home Medical. Roberts Home Medical provides home oxygen, homecare, respiratory, and rehabilitation equipment and services in the Washington D.C. metro area, Maryland, and Virginia areas.
Red Hill
Hammond Asset Management acquired rights to contract for purchase of 12 acres within a 92 acre student housing development. HAM negotiated acquisition and disposition to end user, Cambridge Venture Partners, of development parcel for private client and achieved the highest price paid per acre to date (2007) for high density zoned acreage (R-3) in Harrisonburg, Virginia.
Harner Center
Hammond Asset Management purchased while under construction, completed lease-up, and currently manages this facility.
Dr. Angelopulos DMD
Hammond Asset Management was utilized for site selection, financial consulting, demolition, project management, and administrative support for Dr. Angelopulos's new Harrisonburg location. This new 4,000 square foot facility stands next to Food Lion on South High Street, Harrisonburg
BotkinRose PLC
Hammond Asset Management worked as consultant and project manager for BotkinRose PLC's relocation and development of their new home office. HAM performed turnkey consultative services regarding site selection, analysis, budgeting, acquisition, design, construction, and project management services for this 9,000 square foot office location.
Southern Loop Complex
Hammond Asset Management acquired, developed, and manages this six unit professional office complex located on Route 11 in Staunton, Virginia. This office complex offers ideal location and amenities directly off Interstate 81.
Airport Road
Airport Road has become a focal point of Bridgewater high-end residential development. Located minutes from Harrisonburg, Hammond Asset Management is being utilized for analysis, acquisition, site optimization and engineering, infrastructure design, government contracting, wildlife rehabilitation, and disposition.
